In this episode, we examine the US killing of the commander of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qassem Soleimani, and the bushfire crisis affecting large parts of Australia.<\/p>\n

First up, ASPI Executive Director Peter Jennings discusses the tense situation in the Middle East with our US Army War College fellow, Ned Holt.<\/p>\n

On the bushfires, we speak to three experts in disaster and risk preparedness, including the former head of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Robert Glasser. We also hear from the former director-general of Emergency Management Australia, Mark Crosweller, and Paul Barnes, the head of ASPI\u2019s risk and resilience program.<\/p>\n
